Ganga cruise


Calcutta, Sept. 23: A river cruise company has lined up a trip down the Ganges from Calcutta to Varanasi, touching Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia and Murshidabad.
An MoU was signed between Pandaw Cruises India and the tourism department today. The company operates river cruises in Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia.
The 1,280km tour will cost a tourist between Rs 1.2 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh. “We are yet to calculate the cost for those who stay in Calcutta,” said Raj Singh, the director of the company.
RV Bengal Pandaw, had been designed like a colonial river steamer and will leave Calcutta on September 28 with 50 passengers, mostly NRIs and foreigners.
